  • 500 grams fish fillets
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon amchur (dried mango) powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying


  1. Marinate the fish
    Step 1:
    In a bowl, mix gram flour, rice flour, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, amchur powder, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, yogurt, and oil to form a thick batter. Add salt to taste. Marinate the fish fillets in this mixture for 15 minutes.
  2. Deep fry the fish
    Step 2:
    Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the marinated fish fillets in the oil and deep fry until golden brown and crispy. Make sure to fry in batches for even cooking.
  3. Serve hot
