Tandoori Shrimp Samosa Recipe
These Tandoori Shrimp Samosas are a delicious twist on the traditional samosas, filled with flavorful tandoori marinated shrimp.
Note: You can adjust the spice level by adding more or less chili powder and red pepper flakes.
- 1 lb peeled and deveined shrimp
- 2 tablespoons tandoori masala
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 12 Piece samosa wrappers
- As Per Need (for frying) Oil
- Mixing bowl
- Frying pan
- Slotted spoon
Marinate the shrimp
Step 1:In a mixing bowl, combine the tandoori masala, ground turmeric, ground cumin, red chili powder, red pepper flakes, lemon juice, yogurt, and chopped cilantro. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss to coat them in the marinade. Let the shrimp marinate for 15-20 minutes.
Cook the shrimp
Step 2:Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and let them cool slightly. Once cooled, chop the shrimp into small pieces.
Assemble the samosas
Step 3:Take one samosa wrapper and fold it into a cone shape, overlapping the edges. Seal the edges using a paste made of flour and water. Fill the cone with the chopped tandoori shrimp filling. Seal the top of the cone using the flour-water paste. Repeat the process for the remaining wrappers and filling.
Fry the samosas
Step 4:Heat oil in a frying pan. Fry the samosas on medium heat until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
