Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup ghee or butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 200 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), crumbled
  • 1/2 cup green peas, boiled
  • 1 full onion, finely chopped
  • 1 piece green chili, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Oil As Per Need for frying

Supply:

  • Rolling pin
  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Slotted spoon

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the dough
    Step 1:
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, ghee or butter, and salt. Mix well. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the filling
    Step 2:
Heat oil in a frying pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger paste, green chili, and sauté for a minute. Add crumbled paneer, boiled green peas, garam masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let the filling cool down. Add fresh coriander leaves and mix.
  3. Shape and fry the samosas
    Step 3:
Divide the rested dough into small lemon-sized balls. Roll each ball into a thin oval shape. Cut the oval into half. Take one half and form a cone by overlapping the straight edges and sealing them with water. Fill the cone with the paneer filling. Apply water on the edges and seal the samosa. Repeat with the remaining dough and filling. Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Deep fry the samosas until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  4. Serve and enjoy
    Step 4:
Serve the hot and crispy vegetarian paneer samosas with mint chutney or tamarind chutney. Enjoy!
